RCL112 Step by Step

12 LED SYSTEM FOR RPM CANISTERS [3MM, 4”/14”]

STEP 1 STEP 2
Locate the four 4” Wire Extensions, four 3mm White LEDs, four 2P housings and one 4x2P housing. Remove housings from each end of the 4” wire extensions. Determine LED colors by plugging RX plug into PWR and the RX, and each LED into a LED1-6 channel. Following Plug and Play Connector – Heavy Duty Off-Road Use Assembly Instructions assemble the LED side of each wire extension. Then insert each wire extension into the 4x2P housing keeping all the positive-blue on one side and all the negative-black on the other. Picture shows this step completed.
STEP 3 STEP 4
Insert LEDs into RPM LED Canisters. If desired, wires can be twisted together prior to installing LEDs into canisters. Picture shows this step completed. Using the provided mounting base and zip tie, mount the Standard 10 LED controller to the RPM front bumper. Plug the 4x2P housing into AUX1-4 on the LED controller (blue-top-positive; black-bottom-negative.) Plug the 2P housing side of the RX Plug wire into PWR (red-top-positive; black-bottom-negative) and the 3P RX end into any open channel on the RX. If no extra channels are available use a RX Pass-Thru™ (#RCL5074) or a Y-harness. Picture shows this step completed.
STEP 5 STEP 6
Install the RPM Roof Canisters. Drill three 1/4" holes across the roof line or one larger 3/8” hole in the center to allow wires to pass through the body. Use RPM Body Savers (#RPM80332) to further protect wires from rub damage. Uninstall the RPM Roof Canisters. Locate the six 14” Wire Extensions, six 3mm White LEDs, six 2P housings and one 6x2P housing. Remove housings from each end of the 14” wire extensions.
STEP 7 STEP 8
Following Plug and Play Connector – Heavy Duty Off-Road Use Assembly Instructions assemble the LED side of each wire extension. Insert LEDs into RPM Roof Canisters. Picture shows this step completed. Feed wires through the hole(s) previously drilled and reinstall RPM Roof Canisters. Twist LED pairs together and insert each wire extension into the 6x2P housing keeping all the positive-blue on one side and all the negative-black on the other. Use zip ties to ensure wires remain twisted together. Picture shows this step completed.
STEP 9 STEP 10
Plug the 6x2P housing into LED1-6 on the LED controller (blue-top-positive; black-bottom-negative) previously installed. Locate the two 14” Wire Extensions, two 3mm Red LEDs, two 2P housings and one 3x2P housing. Remove housings from each end of the 14” wire extensions.
STEP 11 STEP 12
Following Plug and Play Connector – Heavy Duty Off-Road Use Assembly Instructions assemble the LED side of each wire extension. Then insert each wire extension into the 3x2P housing keeping both positive-blue on one side and both negative-black on the other. Plug the 3x2P housing into the RX Direct2LED™ blue-top-+, black-bottom. Plug the RX Direct2LED™ into the Electronic Brake Switch red-red, black-white. Picture shows this step completed. Insert LEDs into RPM LED Canisters. If desired, wires can be twisted together prior to installing LEDs into canisters. Use zip ties or aluminum tape to secure wires together. Picture shows this step completed.
STEP 13

Plug the EBS into the throttle channel of the RX. Plug ESC or throttle servo into the open set of pins (side with switches) following polarity, red-red; black-black; white-white. Use remaining aluminum tape, zip ties, and bases to secure all loose wires. Picture shows this step completed.
Before you begin installation onto the vehicle/body: completely read through these instructions, setup/configure your lighting system, and test it to ensure proper operation. Before ever applying power to the LEDs check & double-check your wire connections to ensure the LEDs are plugged into the right channels on the LED controller. LEDs blown due to incorrect installation wiring are not covered by warranty. Connecting LEDs directly to power will blow them immediately.
WARNING: LED lights are designed to be used in extreme nighttime and low visibility running environments and are very high output. DO NOT look directly into beam.
