RPS + Separate Power Source

Use this tutorial to power the LEDs from a separate power source (NOT the receiver) and switch power to the Standard 10 LED Controller (#5051) LED BANK 2 (AUX1-4) using a toggle switch on the transmitter.

This tutorial uses the 3 wire power plug included with the Remote Power Switch.

Remove Blue Wire

Step #1:

Remove the blue wire from the 3 wire power plug.

Remove the 2x2P connector housing and replace with a 2P connector housing.

If no 2P housing is available cut the second row from the 2x2P housing to convert it to a 2P housing.

To remove connector terminals from the connector housings use an XACTO knife.

Plug Into RPS

Step #2:

Plug the 3P connector housing into the RPS, black-black; white-white.

Plug Into LED Controller

Step #3:

Remove the jumper on the AUX pins.

Plug the separate power source positive (+) lead into the top pin of PWR, and the negative(-) lead into the bottom pin of PWR.

Plug the 2P connector housing from the modified 3 wire power plug into the AUX channel, black-top; white-bottom.

Plug Into RX

Step #4:

Plug the RPS into the receiver.

Discard or save the LED Controller jumper.
